Establishes Unprecedented Bacterial Control In Food-Grade Lubricants
Lubricant
Manufacturer Develops Additive Which Provides an added Safety
Factor in Lubricants
MENOMONEE
FALLS (October 11, 2001) Behnke Lubricants Inc / JAX, a leading
manufacturer of lubricating oils and grease, and a specialist in
the development and production of food-grade lubricants, recently
added another innovation to its product offering. JAX has developed
Micronox®
- a revolutionary food-grade antimicrobial agent that provides unsurpassed
protection for lubricants against potentially deadly bacterial contamination such
as E-coli, Listeria and Salmonella. Independently engineered and
field tested by JAX, this proprietary additive is a groundbreaking
advance that promises to protect the lubricants in food
and beverage plants nationwide.
Up
to this point, most antimicrobial agents in food-grade lubricants
have only provided control of bacterial growth by inhibiting further
development of existing colonies. However, the recently developed
Micronox® will supply immediate and significant capabilities
and will preserve and protect the lubricant from harboring
significant levels of potentially harmful microbes.
This
newly developed agent has proven, through extensive testing, to
be a huge ally for the food and beverage industries in the ongoing
battle against microbial contamination, stated Eric J. Peter,
President and CEO of JAX. We are extremely pleased with the
efforts of our research teams and are committed to ongoing utilization
of this revolutionary component. This innovation illustrates JAX
unwavering dedication to providing the best factory-wide premium
grease and lubricant products possible.
One of the JAX Premium Lubricants that features this new additive
is JAX Poly-Guard FG grease, designed for use in general food-processing,
aseptic-filling and can seaming machines. Considering the product
is quite robust, JAX Poly-Guard FG has found its way into additional
factory-wide applications. This is due, in part, to an increased
number of food-processing plants that have decided to consolidate
and to use food-grade lubricants exclusively. Benefits of consolidation
include the reduction of inventory requirements and eliminating
the misuse of non-food-grade lubricants in food-grade lubricant
applications.
To
date, organizations such as Kraft Foods, Nestle Food Division and
Advanced Food Products of Visalia, California have employed the
newly developed JAX Poly-Guard FG in their day-to-day plant operations.
JAX
is currently conducting research and testing to determine if the
beneficial properties of Micronox® can be implemented throughout
the JAX Product Line. If successful, JAX anticipates broad acceptance
in all food and beverage plants in varied applications such as gear
oils, hydraulic fluids, air-line oils, conveyor lubricants, compressor
oils, and aseptic processes.
